Vicki Allen, Marketing and Development Director at PossAbilities of Southern Minnesota

Vicki Allen, a 2004 Leadership Greater Rochester (LGR) graduate and current Marketing and Development Director for PossAbilities of Southern Minnesota, found value in her LGR experience in numerous ways, and the connections she made are still present today.

According to Allen, the most valuable thing she learned from her leadership experience through LGR was meeting people throughout the community whom she wouldn't have met otherwise and developing lifelong connections with these individuals.

Allen also credits LGR for furthering her career as a professional. "I am more knowledgeable about the community and various businesses," says Allen. "This has helped PossAbilities reach out to more businesses to employ people with disabilities."

Allen's community project through the LGR program was improving Central park by replacing the fountain, fixing the sidewalks and putting in a new brick plaza. This experience was just the beginning for Allen's community involvement. Since graduating, she went on to become the Chair of Miracle Field in Rochester - a project completed by last year's class. "We are thrilled to see teams using the field now," says Allen.

"The Chamber has benefited my career in many ways," she says. "But nothing has been more valuable than the great connections and friendships made along the way.”
